NOVA Services - Appliance, Mattress, Electronics, Mattress Removal and Recycling Appliance and mattress recycling solutions

Meet the Nova Team

Guy Naylor
Founder and President

Both visionary and hands on "in the trenches", Nova's leader is passionate about providing the MOST comprehensive and green haul away waste management program available.  "Our TRUST program is the most unique and environmentally sound way to handle appliance, mattress and wood waste- bar none. But we cannot and will not sit back on our laurels and watch the next great idea come from someone else.  It will come from Nova."

Guy attended Syracuse University and the entrepreneurial bug bit him early as he ventured out and formed a fire suppression company.  Twelve years ago Guy focused his energy and talent on an appliance delivery company and owned and operated a fleet of home delivery trucks. His experience including logistical expertise and exposure to home delivery waste stream challenges gave birth to Nova Services. Shortly thereafter Guy started to assemble the equipment and team he needed to create the TRUST program.

Kelley Naylor
Vice President

Joining her brother in 2003, Kelley brings a sweeping range of professional experience to her vital role at Nova.  Her background in operations and finance along with her accomplishments in sales and marketing allow her to keep all facets of the dynamic and ever changing operations at Nova moving in all directions.

Kelley is a graduate of the University of Baltimore and states about Nova, “We are a demanding organization to work for because what we do is critical to our customers and the environment.  I am so pleased to see how far Nova has come and am excited for our future.  Nova has worked hard to build not only an amazing product but an equally amazing team to bring it to you!”

Billie J. Porter
Controller

Billie's "career" in recycling started over 35 years ago when she was active in community glass and paper recycling programs.  She has carried this forward as she raised her children and taught them the value of being "green".  "It was with excitement that I joined the Nova family last year- saving the planet one appliance at a time!"

Billie monitors and analyzes the accounting and regulatory functions as well as contributing to the HR and over all management of Nova.  Billie brings a 30 year career  in accounting and administration backed up by a BS from Stevenson University and certificates in higher education administration and financial planning.

Brian Fiorito
Operations Manager - Mid Atlantic

Brian is a graduate of the University of Maryland and comes to Nova after serving as a logistics supervisor in the relocation industry.  He joined Nova in January 2008 and serves as the Operations Manager for the Baltimore branch. Brian manages and works closely with the drivers, mechanics and dockworkers to maintain the level of quality that is expected of Nova Services.

Brian believes in Nova’s recycling ideals and the TRUST Program and looks forward to expanding Nova's service base and range so more styrofoam, cardboard, wood, plastic and CFC's are kept out of the environment.

Jennifer Lisle
Logistical Coordinator, Administration

"I love working at Nova, not only because of the people I get to work with, but also because of the wonderful feeling I get each and every day being part of something green and good.  I believe we are the only appliance recycler that is "A zero landfill company" and I'm pleased to be a part of it."

And Jen's part is a big part.  Jen juggles the multiple variables that arise in scheduling all pick-ups for appliance, pallet, wood and packaging waste and fills the critical role of making sure everyone gets serviced the Nova Way.  She also tracks the weights, quantities and vital data that is important to the Nova management team as well as our partners. Jen puts it this way: "I am excited that I get to track and prepare our recycling data.  The statistics show that we are growing steadily and rapidly."

Steve Avery
Warehouse/Processing Manager - Baltimore

If there is someone who "bleeds Nova blue" it's Steve Avery, a.k.a.- "Big Steve".  Steve is essentially a legend, a fixture, the guru of the haul away appliance industry. With nearly two decades of experience in handling appliances and metal processing Steve was quickly able to expand his management skills to train and inspire the labor team to accomplish the entire TRUST program.  Steve's greatest strength as a manager and a leader is that he truly leads by example and earns the respect of his team.

Susan Schroeder
Administration - Auburn, MA

Susan comes to Nova from a major freight company with experience in DOT compliance tracking, billing and customer service.  Prior to that Susan worked for an Importer and handled purchasing, shipping/logistics and distribution to retail.  This background lends itself to fulfilling the vital role of DOT compliance, driver log analysis, compilation and analysis of audit counts and always with a positive attitude and smile.

About Nova Susan says: "I believe this company is working toward a great cause!" She will continue to contribute in a positive way day after day and Nova is proud to have her on the team.

Hans Schwieger
Director of Business Development

Hans brings 22 years of sales and management skills to the team.  With a solid set of operational management skills Hans tackled the launching of our new processing plant in Auburn and continues to work with Matt and Sue to keep our valued partners at Sears, Home Depot, Lowes and GE happy.  He is charged with special project oversight and expanding Nova's partner base.  Hans was originally brought on as a marketing consultant to help brand and market Nova Services and TRUST.

"Once I discussed the process and end result of Nova's program I was inspired...to say the least. Guy and I knocked around several brand concepts and decided on TRUST (Total Resource Utilization SysTem) and I am still proud and pleased of our mission and impact.  I wake up in the morning feeling motivated to keep more material out of landfills and aim to expand our service nationwide."
